The Canada tour is going very well. You fans are great.

As many of you have heard, Nashville was hit with severe flooding when the Cumberland river crested after 2 days of torrential rain. The Opry and the Opryland Hotel took most of the damage as did Downtown by the river. Reports are looking good on the clean up. Fortunately the Radisson Hotel did not get affected by the flooding which means the fan club breakfast is still on. It will start at 8.00am on Wednesday June 9, 2010. The address is 2401 Music Valley Drive.

Our hearts and prayers go out to all the people that were affected by the flood.

Please check the Grand Ole Opry site to find out the location of Charley's performances on the 11th and 12th of June.

Again, thank you for all your support.

We would strongly urge you not to use a online ticket reseller to buy our tickets. These sites sell tickets for up to ten times the original price. Buyer Beware.

It was an honor to perform for The President and The First Lady at the White House on July 21st 2009. Definitely, one for the history books.

We have had lots of comments about the website, and have now opened the store. I have been in the studio cutting a new album. I expect it to be out in mid 2010. The fan club breakfast was great in 2009. I thank all of you that were there, and would hope to see you there this year.

Please remember that each fan club member is allowed one guest to the meet and greet. It is set for 45 minutes before the show. Please contact Estella or call her at   21...... for the meet and greet request, at least 2 weeks prior to the show. Please note that some venues do not permit us to do a meet and greet. Enjoy the visit!

Musically Yours

Charley Pride Film Expected to Shoot in 2009/10
Oct 4, 2006
Charley Pride's life will be the subject of a feature film that is expected to be shot in 2009 or 2010 in Memphis, film director Craig Brewer told The Commercial Appeal newspaper. Brewer also directed 2005's rap-themed Hustle & Flow. Actor Terrence Howard, who received an Oscar nomination for his work in Hustle & Flow, has been cast as Pride. Brewer said the actor suggested the idea for a film biography of Pride's life. During the filming of Hustle & Flow, Howard noted he preferred country music to rap. However, Brewer will first finish writing the script for another film, Maggie Lynn, about a woman trying to make it in country music. Although he doesn't expect to write the script for the Pride biopic, Brewer said he hopes to shoot the film in Memphis and Nashville.

On January 17th, it was my birthday. My husband surprised me with tickets to see Charley at the Stafford Centre in Stafford, TX. We were in the balcony but were right in frot of the stage. The concert was awsome. I have loved Charley since I was a kid. I grew up with country music and my dad always bought me a Charley Pride album for Christmas. Thanks Charley for such a great concert. I will be looking for you to come to Texas again. It was a great birthday present.

Charley, I know this is a long shot, but I have been listening to your music my entire life and my mother has loved your music since you released your first album. I was able to fulfill a dream of hers last year when I took her to your concert in Plant City, FL. I really hope you come back to the area and we can see you once again, I am really hoping that I can get her in to see you, we waited for an hour after your concert in hopes to meet you. I would love for my mother to have that pleasure.

As chairperson of the African American Heritage committee in Yazoo City, MS I will request a MS State Historical Marker in honor of Mr. Pride as the only black country western singer born in Mississippi. Presently I am responsible for (4) historical markers being erected highlighting the accomplishments of African Americans in Mississippi. We have such a rich heritage and we need to leave a legacy for the children. reply to cmbrown11@bellsouth.net

We are hoping to see you sometime this year. My Husband has dang near every song ever sang by you but the other day I found a cd that neither of us had ever heard of. But after listening to it- we see that there are new re-makes off of some of your songs. Also, I just wanted to mention that we used your song during our wedding ceremony- everyone cried. It's the one called "All I Have to Offer You Is Me." I thought that our Minister had forgotten that we wanted that song in there and he kept telling me that I needed to say these vows and I said I won't do it til you play my song and he said your song is after this part and my (now husband - Charlie) said Babe it's ok it's right after this... It was quite comical. You are an awesome artist Charley and we hope you have many more years at it.

Charley Pride's Life Story
May 1, 2009
I have just completed reading Pride-The Charley Pride Story. It was a marvelous read. A film of Charley Pride's life is something I would thoroughtly enjoy. Many years ago my husband saw Mr. Pride and his wife at the airport in Memphis while my husband was serving in the Army. He was so impressed with the love he saw in both of them for one another. I was always so appreciative of the outlook Mr. Pride had on live. So much of Mr. Pride's music brings me such fond memories and I cherish his voice. My life is better because someone gave Mr. Pride the opportunity to sing country music. I have loved every minute of it.

Hey Charlie! Have been a fan of yours for years. Since I'm originally from Jamaica, I always enjoy "You're My Jamaica." But my all-time favorite is "Crystal Chandeliers." My suggestion is for a Country Legends tour consisting of you, George Jones, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard! That would be totally sold out! Please think about it and suggest it to the others. As one of the few African-Americans that spin country music for a living, it is heart-warming to know that someone I grew up listening to continues to be one of the hallmarks of the business. I wish you continued success in all that you do.

After all, your name is "Pride".

My brother and myself grow up listening to Charley Pride both on 8 track and my dad playing guitar and singing his music. Well this weekend we were able to send our dad and mom to their first Charley Pride concert in Great Falls MT, sitting in the second row. It was the greatest treat for them. Dad even got to shake Charley's hand and pass him a note telling him he got to play drums for Charley back in the early 60's outside Helena MT. It was truly a magical night for my parents to see Charley still sounding as great as ever.

God Bless Charley Pride!

Hi,
I was at your concert at Hamilton Place on July 9th and you were fantastic as always. Your son, Dion, was very good too. My friends bought me his CD and when I listened to it today, I loved every song. You have given so much of yourself to all of your fans and you are very much appreciated and loved by all. I wish you and your family all the very best. I look forward to the movie about your life. You are the greatest!!!!!!!!
Jul 12, 2009
We were at your show lastnight in Ottawa...and you've heard or read this a million times but you are the greatest!!...You make everyone in the audience feel like they are not only fans but also friends and only a true entertainer can do that...Your "offspring" Dion is another amazing entertainer...Very in touch with the audience...I wish all the best for him in the future...And i would like to send him a special thanks for being so nice to my daughter Katy(I think she was the only 13 yr old at your concert in Ottawa)...He was very sweet and when we walked away she said.."MOM!...He remembered my name!"...She was on cloud nine..Anyway once again thank you for a great night Charley and will definitely see you again next time...:0)

I hope Charley comes back to Az again I have gone to everone of his concerts for the past 40 years.A movie is a good idea for the Pride of Country music. This Darius Rucker claims he is the first "real" black country singer. Well all I got to say is Charley is the Greatest in any race.As he says" He is plain Charley Pride American" As long as he keeps singing I will come see him & buy those wonderful albums.Because where my music comes from you play the leading part'I have LP's.8tracks,cassettes, cd's I play them all.But Your so good when your bad is my favorite but all the rest are too, lol.Keep singing you are loved by this "old" girl in AZ. To me Cuba Gooding is the actor for your movie. One of my favorite songs is the one which is part of my life. It was burgers and fries and cherry pies, life was simple and good back then. I am so happy to know that this website is here! It is a pleasure to share the same home 'county' with Mr. Pride--Quitman County, Mississippi.

I moved away from Marks,MS (for the 2nd time) six years ago, but my heart and ideas are there.
I was hoping that I could get Mr. Pride to invest in a project I am doing in Marks...my home. Sorry for writing so much. I would like to share more if you would contact me....at greenantconsult05@yahoo.com or 870-275-3357 Once we get some projects off the ground, I think the Charley Pride Highway that runs through there would really do him proud then! :)

Hello Charley,
You are my greatest fun and hero in country music. I come from Africa and when I was 16 yrs old (now 51)I could sing along most of your songs. There was rumour one time that you were going to perform in Nairobi the capital city of my country Kenya and I was so excited I would get a chance to see you. I learnt this was just hoax when I went to the stadium and u were not there.(Was so dissapointed) I would love to attend your life performances now that I live in the US in Atlanta Georgia but currently your shows are ways too far. I will try to make it to Kentucky God willing. Love you Charley and God Bless

Charley Pride Movie
Aug 29, 2009
I saw Charley in concert a few years ago. I grew up listening to his beautiful music. In concert, I couldn't believe how good his music was!
At the concert, Charley stated that there was to be a movie about his life. I can hardly wait.
My husband and I go to the movies very infrequently. Mostly due to the trash that hollywood puts out.
With a subject as good as the life of Charley Pride, it will have to be a great movie.
I can hardly wait to see it!!
You still got it Charley!!!

I have been a country music fan for quite a few years now,, thanks to my mother who passed away in Nov/09.. I was lucky enough to take my mom to one of Charley Prides concerts in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2005, i got her the tickets for Christmas and when it came time for her to go, she wanted to change her mind , because she was in a wheel chair,, of course we would not let her change her mind, and convinced her to come, told her of course they have wheel chair accessible areas for her,, she didnt have too bad of a seat either and really loved the concert,,,I wanna say thank you Charley for letting me and my mother have that special time together at your concert,,, PS btw if your looking for a back up singer give me a shout here is my email ammariepaul@ns.sympatico.ca

Hi Charley,
My husband, his sisters and I looked forward to seeing you in Wendover Saturday night. Their brother and sister-in-law were Lee & Ev Applington from your life in Helena. We had tickets but due to a medical problem had to let them go, but they are now being used by an Airforce Sergeant returning from combat in Iraq. I spent the afternoon with Rosene and you in Spokane in 1985 and had a great time. Hope to see you again!! someday

I GREW UP WITH CHARLEY PRIDE SINGING IN MY HOUSE EVERYDAY(ON RECORDS OF COURSE)HE SEEMS LIKE JUST A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY, AND EVERY TIME I HEAR HIM, IT BRINGS BACK A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES. WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL, I HAD A BIG CRUSH ON HIM. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A BETTER VOICE IN COUNTRY MUSIC. I DON'T THINK HE HAS REALLY BEEN HONORED AS MUCH AS HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I HOPE HIS CHILDREN WILL CARRY ON HIS LEGACY- THEY'RE BOUND TO BE TALENTED, WITH A FATHER LIKE CHARLEY PRIDE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING A FILM ABOUT HIS LIFE, I'M SURE IT WILL BE VERY INTERESTING.KEEP ON SINGING CHARLEY--WE CAN'T GET ENOUGH.

Hi Mr Pride, My mom has been one of your biggest fans since I was a little girl, so that has been about 40 years or so. We took her to your concert last night at Winstar in OK and I wasn't really that excited about it since I haven't listened to your music since I was a kid. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED your show. It brought back so many childhood memories of my mom listening to your records and my dad singing your songs. I had to eat my words that I would be bored...you put on a GREAT concert! Like I said, my mom is your biggest fan and hopefully one of these concerts, she will be able to meet you!!!

I think it is awesome that you will have a movie made about your life. All I can say is: "It's about time!" Much like Terrence Howard who is slated to portray you I also prefer country music to rap. Rap thinks it is so "real." But there is nothing real about it as far as I can tell. For real depth, emotion and plain being able to relate to it, country is it! Thank you Charlie for being our voice in country for so long now. Thank you for paving the way for Rissi Palmer, Darius Rucker and even Nelly who did a duet with Tim McGraw to make their way into country music. You are truly an inspiration. God bless you.

Hello:
I am thrilled that a motion picture is finally being done about the life of the great Charley Pride. It is long overdue. When I was 12, I used to mow lawns in my neighborhood, and the very first thing I ever bought with my own money was Charley's "Kiss An Angel Good Morning". He helped to seal my lifelong interest in country music, and I have been a fan ever since. Looking forward to the movie! Ken Hippler (KFAI-Minneapolis, MN)

I was very shocked to hear about the passing of the great Charlie Pride. I have and always enjoy listening to his music. I am not prejudice about the color of his skin, and never will be offended about his race. I am one of his fans that was raised up on the older style country music, and how the country music singers perform on stage. I will never give up my country music for anything. I have been enjoying listening and watching the Grand Ole Opry since I was a little girl. And today I still enjoy tha old country style music.

Dear Charley, On May 12,2008, we had tickets to see your show in Red Deer, AB, Canada, on Mothers Day, May 11, 2008. I was in my angel garden hanging an angel when I turned to come out I slipped on a rock and broke 2 bones in my left foot and trying to save myself; I slipped on my right foot and broke my ankle in three places. So I never did get to see you in person as I was in surgery while your show was going on in Red Deer. My husband and son went to see you and your son and came to tell me what a show I missed. I would just love to meet you as you are one of my favorite artists and a true country artist too. I am coming to see you on May 8, 2010, Charley and would really love to meet you. Have a great show. sincerley, Lynda Hodgkinson

Hey Uncle Charley! I cantt wait for that new movie to come and I do hope it gets picked up and it becomes a big movie and it hits theatres and the whole world will love it. And you are so lucky to perform for Mr. Obama and the first Lady! Also I hope Terrence Howard does an amazing job playing your role. You are a great role model and will continue to be. And I saw your brother Stephen not to long ago because he came to visit and his wife Pam! They're both so nice. And everybody here (Me, My sister Victoria and of course my parents Eric and Judy are doing fine). And of course my dad is always being silly (kidding). But I hope all is well. Oh and I am due to graduate from 8th grade in 5 months then I'm off to High School. AND in one year Victoria is off to COLLEGE. Man we grow a little fast. But from now on I will try to keep commenting on how we are doing!

Much Love, your neice

Hi Charley, Sorry I missed your show the last time you were in NI, I have been playing your music since the 1970's as a boy growing up on our county Down Farm ! I used to use 8 track tapes in the cab of my tractor turned up full blast! farming aint so good here nowadays so I mainly drive tourists around in my Coach for a living, but the music being played is still the same!now my nine year old daughter is hooked on Charley Pride Music, Best regards Charley and many thanks Robin.
Hutty Whitney/Charley Tribute Artist
Mar 15, 2010
Hi Charley: I am originally from Barbados, and my brother who passed away in 2005 was an avid fan. I am an entertainer/truck driver living in Canada for over 20 years. I will be competing this summer in Brantford Ontario as a Charley Pride tribute artist and was thrilled to hear you will be at Casino Rama on April 23rd and 24th. My wife and I are coming to see your show on the 24th and I would be so honoured to meet you. Not sure if this would be possible, but we are really looking forward to your show as I have never had the pleasure of seeing you perform live in concert. God Bless

I hope that this Biography Show goes nationwide. I love Charlie Prides Book and his music. It doesn't butter itself up. His book itself tells it the way most people lived. I have read his book. I can't wait to someday see him in Concert and hopefully get a chance to meet him in person. My favorite songs of his is Chrystal Chandeliers and Wonder Could I Live There Anymore.
Best Wishes

There is a song that George sings, " who's going to fill these shoe's". I grew up listening to Country & Western music. No one will ever fill your shoes but we will carry them as my boys 12&8 can sing along to your tunes. Proud to be a pride fan. Come to Cold Lake !!

I am so excited about the planned movie of Mr Pride's life. My husband courted me on his wonderful music. And Terrance Howard will do a great job as the lead. I only wish my husband would of lived to see it,for this is his favorite singer. Mr Pride was so kind several years ago and took time to talk with my daughter in Branson and autographed a photo of himself from a music book. He was so nice to my daughter. See my husband was right, he always believed Mr Pride was a unique human being. Thanks, and May God Bless You

I was at the concert last and enjoyed it very much. I approached the stage at the end to Show Mr. Pride that I had an old souvenier program of his, I said "do you remember this" and he yellled at me NO I was not asking for and autograph. Irealize that with the noise he did not hear what I said. Did he have to yell??? He could have just shook his head. I have been a fan of Mr. Prides for a very long time and I have traveled miles to see him, now I see him in a different light. Thank you. I know he will never see this, but I was very embarassed. Thank you for ypur time Cheryl Kibsey

I grew up listening to you. I remember when we lived in Germany in the '70's, you were on the Tv and my dad thought all his Christmas' had come at once. I have never seen him so exited about seeing someone on TV. My dads biggest wish is to see you live on The Grand Old Oprey. I hope he gets it. Yoy are a wonderful singer.

I just had to let you all know that I was so impressed with the quality & down to earth feelings that Charleys' music expresses. I think I have all of his Long Play albums from day one or at least a large number of them. I have always loved his music and his classic way of expressing his life in song. I admire his positiveness & how he has over come all the negative publicity since a child because of his Momma's influence & that he has never forgotten & I'm sure this has kept him a humble feeling man with a big appreciation for life. I drove 75 miles to see the Concert in Prince George BC last nite May 4/10 Thanks so much for the high classed music & entertainment you are in a class to yourself above a 'lot'. Your son is a delight to listen to & I wish him the same success as Charley he is one talented young man. They are both beautiful from the inside out. One can see the admiration glowing for each other when the sing together. As tired as I was when I got home at 1:00AM I started to reading his book & had to put it down to get some sleep but I will tell you it is a hard book to put down. It will not take me long to finish is & look forward to the movie. Nothing happens by chance I believe everything happens for a reason & I wish you long healthy lives & the best to all. A long long time fan of Charley Pride. Take care All Concrete Lady

What a great show! I grew up listening to Charley's music and what a thrill it was to see him live! I brought my parents as it was their belated Christmas present and they said they hadn't seen a show like Charley's in a long time. What a treat to have his son Dion sing for us as well (even shook his hand and got an autograph). I also bought Charley's auto-biography and completed it within a week. A great read! Thanks Charley for being such a great entertainer. Love you forever!

We so enjoyed and loved your music that I have followed your career ever since. You are well loved in Canada and well respected.

My Mom and Dad were your biggest fans back in Florida, after my Dad passed and my Mom had the tickets for the show that he didn't live to see, I went with her. I loved your music and loved the joy you gave to them both. Mama is gone now too, but your music still fills my house with joy, love and good memories. I hope I get to see you again one day.

Once in a lifetime some one is able to meet someone special that truly brightens their day. You were that someone special, "Charley Pride" at Craven, Saskatchewan 17 July 2010. I will treasure that memory for years. I work with the elderly and whenever one of them is having a bad day if I put on one of your CD,s your music truly soothes their troubled mind. You are amazing and I can't thank you enough for coming to Canada and sharing your talent. This comes from the heart and may God continue to bless you each and everyday.

In 1972, at the tender age of 18, my sister & I attended your concert in Vancouver, Canada. We were lucky enough to catch you as you came off stage and you invited us back to your dressing room where we spent a 1/2 hour visiting with you. Your kindness and graciousness has never been forgotten. Neither has the fact that your manager said no to a cigarette to you so I gave you one of mine! Thank you Mr. Pride for all these years of fine music and a memory to last me a lifetime.
